At CCHD there are many brothers and sisters serving in all kinds of working areas. On this page we introduce the most important ministries. Description:Stress levels are much higher nowadays. In fact, stress levels are so high that some people can’t even cope with it anymore. We want to provide an alternative to society’s medical solutions/treatments for those individuals who need support in some, or all areas of their life. Some of these areas vary (finances, household, free time etc.) from person to person. Our support is offered in the stress-free and safe environment of CCHD. We build teams of 2 to 3 people to support one person. Members of the teams maintain constant open lines of communication to optimize their support. In addition, the teams are also provided oversight by a person who is not directly involved and who provides feedback/direction for them. IMPORTANT: The ministry is not a professional kind of counseling. We simply want to take care of one another as friends and family, and walk through the difficult times together.

Announcements
Description:In every service, after the first song there is a greeting, 2-3 announcements and prayer in German and English. The translation is sentence by sentence.

Greeting ministry
Description:It is our desire to demonstrate the love of God to every person who walks into the Chapel. We have the first opportunity to bless each person as they come through the doors. Our goal is to open the door for each person as they come into the Chapel, to greet them, and to make them feel welcome.

Description:At the book table you can buy Christian and Calvary Chapel Heidelberg books, CDs, DVDs and other products (stickers, hats, t-shirts). The products available change from time to time and every other month a new set of books based on a certain topic is featured. Here you can also purchase and order CDs of our sermons. All profits go towards adding to our Leih-Prärie (library) downstairs.

Church fun time
Description:As a family we want to spend time together, „creating memories“, by doing funny, exciting, relaxing, sportive things together.

Cleaning
Description:We have the great privilege to make sure that God’s house is clean and neat for those who come to worship God here at the Chapel. It is really simple and everything is explained.

Coffee Bar
Description:The goal of the Coffee Bar is to give people the opportunity to socialise and have fellowship. The Coffee Bar is open after every service for exactly this purpose. The Open Coffee Bar on Saturdays offers the opportunity (especially for single persons) to spend the evening in fellowship. You can also invite others, especially those who don’t know God yet. It’s a time for games and conversations…

Friday night HD Outreach
Description:We meet Fridays at the Chapel, 7 p.m. and start with prayer. After prayer, we go out to the streets of Heidelberg to tell the people about Jesus. By doing so, we accept the responsibility for what God has called us to do.

Games @ CCHD
Description:For the times between services, the Open Coffee Bar on Saturdays or spontaneous evenings at church we have a choice of games. There are board games but there is also the area downstairs with foosball, darts and table tennis.

King’s Daughters
Description:King’s Daughters is the Women’s Bible study at Calvary Chapel Heidelberg. We meet every third Saturday of the month at 10am in the Chapel. We start with breakfast, followed by a Bible study, worship and prayer. We aim to create an atmosphere of trust in which we, as women of God, are able to grow spiritually in our personal relationship with the living God.

Kleine Herde
Description:The ministry of the „Kleine Herde“ or “Little Herd” is for all kids ages 5 and up. Our kids program is every Sunday from 10:30am to 12:15pm. We provide a colourful and entertaining program (stories, games, singing, prayer, snacks, talking) to pass on to the kids truths about God that can help them in their everyday life. The children are encouraged to trust God as a loving father and live their life with him. During and after the program, the staff also has the goal of building supportive and meaningful relationships with the kids. The staff member takes the role of a teacher, a friend, and a mentor who listens, gives advice and prays with and for the children. Our verse: Colossians 2:2 We want the kids to be encouraged and knit together in love. We wish that they have full trust because they recognize and understand God’s mystery – that is Christ – in its whole dimension.,

Lämmchen
Description:Lämmchen 1: Toddlers group ages 0 to 2. We take care of the kids so the parents can join the service. Songs, games, reading and snacks are on the schedule for the little ones. The usher helps out if a child needs to go to the bathroom. Parents can pick up their kids directly after the service. Lämmchen 2: Group for kids age 3 and 4. The kids learn in a small program about the love God has for them. Also there is time to play, sing songs and do crafts. To frame the time we have a regular schedule and regular welcome and good bye songs.

Leih-Prärie
Description:Our Leih-Prärie (Library) contains all kinds of Christian literature and also provides audio from our services. Opening hours are 45 minutes after the morning service on Sunday. The ministry involves other tasks as well, for example signage of books and maintenance of the computer database.

Men of God
Description:This ministry is open to men of all ages to come and fellowship in the word, join in worship and partake in food together. We usually cover a particular book of the Bible. It is always an exciting time and we all learn a lot.

Missions
Description:With this ministry, we want to support our missionaries through prayer, letters, Emails etc. and also inform the church about the work that the missionaries are doing. Sometimes we organize special events with the topic missions.

Sound
Description:As all other ministries at the church, the Audio/Video ministry is also there to give glory to God in combination with worship. It is an integral part of the worship ministry and serves as a tool to aid the worship team to lead the church into an attitude of worship before God. Key aspects are: Stage setup, testing the equipment for optimal function, mixing of voices/instruments for worship and teaching/translation, and recording of teachings in MP3 format.

Tape ministry
Description:Tape and copy the teaching, tape during events at church and through this allow as many people as possible to participate or reexperience.

Translation
Description:Our task is to translate the teaching into German/English. Through translating we participate directly in teaching the word of God. We want to make ourselves available, just as the pastor, as a mouthpiece of God. We prepare before the service by reading the Bible passage and the teaching manuscript. We also support the pastor through prayer.

Ushering
Description:This ministry is for men and women who want to provide practical support before and during service. The tasks are a necessity to ensure a good flow of the service: greeting people (especially those who are first time guests), making sure the sanctuary is in order, guiding late arrivals to an available seat, giving out bibles etc. The usher also has eye contact with the preaching person and through that is able to react to distractions and can support the preaching person through his/her prayers

Worship
Description:We want to help people enter into the throne room of God. We want to become transparent so they can only see Jesus. Our goal is also to support our Pastor in the vision he has for the church and the services as a whole. We want to perform the music in such a way that it doesn’t distract people from seeking God. This means we don’t put too little or too much emphasis on the musical side of worship. People involved in this ministry should be able to carry a tune with their voices and have a good sense of rhythm and melody. Musicians are spiritual role models to the church. Second to the pastor, they are the ones with the most exposure. Visitors and others will measure what the church stands for through them. Areas: Worship at services, Sound, Open Song, Practical Workshops
